NOTHING. Like, seriously. Nothing. So, maybe you should follow suit. Stay safe, out of Wonderland's creepy little grasp, and not leave again.

[ he's one of her only friends. caroline had found herself completely and utterly gutted at the idea of stiles being gone forever. his friend with the blue eyes is cute and everything, but he lacks the moles and sense of humour caroline has come to love so much. he'd reminded her a little too much of matt with all of his pessimism, something that caroline wasn't sure if she wanted to tackle head-on or simply avoid altogether. ]

The only thing that happened was people were really weird. They did things that … I'm not sure if they'd even do it? Like, I kind of felt compelled to let people know …

[ oh, wow, caroline doesn't need a bad decisions event to run her mouth off. ]

That I once liked Twilight. Soooo embarrassing.

Like watching paint dry would've been more interesting. The only bad thing that happened was my stupid friend with moles decided to go back home and not even say goodbye!
You might know him, he's, like, the biggest d-bag.

[ this has to be the nicest way she has ever said d-bag. caroline wonders if the event was truly boring because of the lack of stiles … she hasn't run into him with too many of the events, so she can't exactly say he's a blast to wind up stuck in a mineshaft with, but, she likes to think wonderland's just a little boring without him. because, she thinks, it is. ]

OMG! Wow, so not Team Edward, thanks!

[ not anymore. ]

A BIG JERK.

[ but it takes caroline a moment to let a specific word sink in. kidnapped. it's not something she particularly likes. she's been kidnapped one too many times, held at werewolf claw and by her father's own hand. to think he's not joking … ]

[ god, she hopes he's joking. ]

But you were kidnapped? Screw talking about Team Jacob and Team Edward. Are you okay? Besides being a total jerk.

Being happy to see your dad totally makes up for being a big jerk.
Is he okay?
I mean, besides home sucking. It mustn't suck too much if you got to see him!

[ if home sucks … caroline doesn't want to think of mom or her dad, of how she'd simply twist a neck to see him one last time, to hear him say words she knows he'll never, ever let pass his lips. while she had been saddened to hear stiles had gone home, at least he knew someone she thought he viewed as important to him (as he'd mentioned his dad in his text, why wouldn't he be important?) was okay. take the positivity wherever you can, right? ]

No.
I prefer it, too.

[ even though she's in the lurch with regards to tyler's fate, she thinks she pretty much prefers to not know. here, she can become too occupied, with stiles, with everyone around her … she can be in everyone's business and not a single one of them really knows that those who call themselves her friends sometimes look upon her intruding with a curled lip. she's caroline forbes: fresh slate. and the selfish part of her likes it. she likes this thick cloak of denial. ]

If you want to talk about your dad anytime, you can tell me.
My dad's … not really around anymore. But my mom's the sheriff, and I worry about her, in case time doesn't like stop when we leave home.
I don't like to think about it. But maybe it wouldn't hurt sometimes to do so.
The thinking thing. Instead of the ignoring ... thing.

Yeah! She has been since I could remember. Maybe your dad and my mom should go bowling and share really lame cases. Does your dad deal with a lot of animal attacks? I swear, it's like the only thing small towns have to deal with.

[ she wonders if stiles had been as resentful toward his father as she had toward her mother. work always came first. the badge was always more important than her. it had seemed to black and white, when she was younger, to hate her mother for simply doing her job. it's all she had — and caroline punished her for it. ]

Really? Because I might have to sue you for that patent.
Delete this text, but, my friends say I'm a really great swimmer in this pool called Denial. You may have heard of it?
