[ The most important thing here is that Scott sends an attached, shirtless image of himself. Which may be nice under ordinary circumstances, nice if it weren't for the deep gashes spiraling up his torso, up to his neck. They're still bleeding out, staining the top of his sweatpants with blood, obviously left untreated - and Scott plans to keep it that way.
